I donated a music performance to raise money for a private school. How do I claim the value and my expenses?

I am a singer/songwriter and last year I performed for a benefit to raise money for a local private school. While others only performed if they were paid, I donated my pay as well as incurred some minor expenses.  How do I report this on my income tax return?

You cannot claim the value of your time or your skills.  You can only claim any expenses you incurred when you perform an act of charity.
