I donated a diamond necklace worth $4500.00 to a silent auction benefitting a mission trip to Ecuador. I was not able to put in It's Deductible. How do I claim it?

You need to list this contribution on form 8283. Attached are links to the form and instructions:

You also need to make sure you have a receipt from the charity and the statement must indicate whether or not you received any goods or services in receipt of your contribution. This statement is critical or your contribution will be denied if audited.
