I donated $200 to an orphanage who says I can claim a $100 child care credit. Is this true? How to I claim it on my turbo tax return?
turbotax won't let me claim the tax credit because I have no dependent children.

No, it is not true. You can deduct it as a charitable contribution, but you have to have a dependent for the credit.
