What box is checked under Dependents, middle of your 1040? Over on the right is 2 boxes for Child Tax Credit and Other Dependents. Which one is checked? How old is your child? Was he born in 2021?
Before filing you can preview the 1040 or print the whole return

Make sure you have entered your child as a dependent in My Info, and that you have entered the child's Social Security number. If your child was born in 2021make sure you said he lived with you the whole year. There is an oddly worded question that asks if the child paid over half their own support. Say NO to that question.
Look at form 1040 line 28 and make sure the amount is there before you e-File.
Always print a copy of your completed tax return for your records, and review it carefully before e-Filing.
You will need it if you are audited by the IRS, or to amend if a TurboTax update changes your return or for any other reason,
AND, to find your AGI next year.
Thank you so much for telling me about previewing my tax 1040 form. My son was born in November 2020. When I did my 2020 taxes (about 2 months after he was born). I claimed him as a dependent but failed to check the Child Tax Credit box because I didn't even know that was a thing. I just checked my 1040 and I am unable to check the box that he is under the age of 18 and eligible for the Child Tax Credit. (I made under 75k last year). Do you have any idea why this box might be unavailable for me to click on/check?
When you prepared your 2020 return did you say that your new baby lived with you the WHOLE year in My Info? You have to say that for a newborn. If you messed that up, that is why you did not get child-related credits

If you did not get the child tax credit for 2020 due to this error then amend your 2020 return.
Select your tax year for amending instructions:
Did you receive the 1st and/or 2nd EIP payments for claiming him? If you did not get those payments then go to the recovery rebate credit section in Federal Review to get the stimulus payments for your child who was born in 2020.
For 2021 go back through My Info and edit him. Check all the questions for him. Check his birthdate. You must have answered a question wrong.
