I did not claim earned income credit. IRS and TT says I did. I can't access my documents without paying for premium. Ok now it makes sense, perhaps.

You do not have to have a dependent to be eligible for the EIC. You must be within the income requirements and be age 25 thru age 64 to be eligible.
