I can contribute $6900 to HSA account. Any contribution above $2000 does not reduce my Federal Tax?

Any contribution that I do above $2000 to my HSA only reduces my state tax , but does not affect my FED Tax.  Why is it so?

There are too many factors to be able to give you a definite answer. The way it is supposed to work is this:

Any HSA contributions that are through the employer are not shown as a deduction. This is because your employer removed the amount (code W in box 12 on your W-2) from Wages in boxes 1, 3, and 5 before your W-2 was printed. There is no deduction because it was never in your income in the first place.

Any contributions that you made directly to the HSA (i.e., not by means of payroll deduction with the employer) appear on line 25 on Schedule 1 of form 1040. This reduces your Adjusted Gross Income. This would normally reduce your federal tax, but many taxpayers have credits that reduce their tax to zero, so additional deductions don't make any difference.

To be more definitive, we would have to know a number of things, like what your code W amount was on your W-2, how much you contributed to your HSA outside of your employer, what your AGI is, what your HDHP coverage was for each month, the same for your spouse (if one), and so on.

I do not have W2.  All I have is about 32K in 1099 income, and only HSA deduction.  No other expense.  Filing single.
