You haven't bought a house, you contracted to buy a house. You will buy it on 1/6/2017 assuming nothing changes between now and then.

And count for what? Nothing about buying a house goes on your tax return, except for paying property taxes and mortgage interest. Did you pay any of those in 2016? Oh, if you are asking about the beginning questions of changes for 2016 then answer No.
