I bought a used car in 2016, where do i report the sales tax?

To enter sales tax on the purchase of a used car:

• Open (continue) your return if it's not already open.
• In the Search box (top right-hand corner), type “Sales Tax”.
• Click on the Magnifying Glass icon.
• Click on “Jump to Sales Tax” link high-lighted in Blue.
• Click on “Continue with Sales Tax”
• Click on “Easy Guide” to answer the step-by-step instructions.

Keep in mind that you must itemize deductions in order to receive the benefit of claiming sales tax.  That is, your standard deduction may be higher if you do not have enough itemized deductions (e.g., mortgage interest, medical expenses, charitable donations, sales tax, etc.).
