I am trying to complete my Alabama State taxes and it shows 0 for "Mortgage Interest and Points Paid from Form 1098" and will not let me enter in a number. Why is that?

Your Form 1098 information is entered into the Federal section and then this entry transfers over to your State return. To update this information in TurboTax, please take the following steps:

1.) Federal

2.) Deductions and Credits

3.) Your Home

4.) Mortgage Interest, Refinancing, and Insurance (Form 1098)

There will be a screen within this section that asks about points paid (see screenshot)
