I am required by my employer to work form home I don't have a office to go into to. can I deduct any of the additional expense this causes

Not anymore.

For tax years prior to 2018, you could have deducted the expenses of your home apportioned to your work space.

However, the new tax law prohibits W2 receiving employees from this deduction.
