You can deduct expenses as a work-related expense if you are already employed as a youth pastor, but the expense deduction is an itemized deduction and subject to the 2% floor, so you may not benefit. You can't deduct expenses as work-related if they are to change jobs or qualify for a new career.
Education expenses are eligible for credits if you are attending a school that is accredited by the US Dept of Education to participate in Federal student aid programs. If the school is accredited, they will issue a 1098-T. You can claim credits for tuition you paid plus required expenses for books and supplies.
To deduct educational expenses, you must attend an eligible educational institution.
An eligible educational institution is generally any college, university, vocational school, or other postsecondary educational institution eligible to participate in a student aid program administered by the U.S. Department of Education.
