I am an unpaid board member for SAG-AFTRA union. May I deduct travel expenses? If yes, where on the return would I do that?

You may deduct those expenses as a miscellaneous expense subject to the 2% adjusted gross income limit.  To achieve a tax benefit from these expenses, you must itemize your deductions.  In addition, your job-related expenses and other miscellaneous expenses must be more than 2% of your AGI.  To enter this information into TurboTax, go to the Federal tab>Deductions & Credits>Job-Related Expenses.  Please read on for more information.
