If you received dependent care benefits of $5,000 listed in box 10 of your W-2 but have no dependent care expenses, these benefits generally must be reported as taxable income.
If you have no qualifying expenses to offset the benefits, you can't claim the Child and Dependent Care Credit. You should report the full amount of dependent care benefits from your W-2 as income.
Deleting Form 2441 alone in TurboTax won't remove the income reporting because Form 2441 is used to claim the credit and report related expenses. To remove the credit from TurboTax, go to the Deductions & Credits section and answer No when asked about claiming dependent care expenses. Then, delete Form 2441 from the Tax Tools menu.
This process ensures no credit is claimed and that dependent care benefits are properly reported as income on your tax return.
did you get a W-2 with an amount in box 10? ,if so you can't avoid the 2441. Do you have dependents? if so, check the entries on their worksheets
