The child care credit is a credit for paying someone to take care of your child while you worked, and you can only get that credit up to the age of 12 unless there are some special circumstances.
Do you really mean the child tax credit? The CTC for a child between age 6 and 17 is $3000. If you are getting the child tax credit it will show up on line 28 of your Form 1040.

The Child Tax Credit for one child age 16 would be $3,000.
Thank you, is there a way I can see that it's been figured into the credits?
