How do you change the adjusted cost basis of the home in the calculations of the home office expense deduction?

You edit the cost basis of your home:

  • Type sch c in the search box and click search.
  • Click on Jump to sch c.
  • Edit the business.
  • Scroll down to Business Expenses: Home Office Expense.
  • Continue through all the screens, past the Depreciation for your home office screen. 
  • Continue with the onscreen interview until you get to the Cost of Your Home screen and edit the amount(s).
