How do I report interest earned on a 2nd mortgage loan provided to my son?

I loaned my son money to refinance his second mortgage. How do I report the interest I earn on the loan?

You will report this interest income just as if you had received a form 1099-INT from a bank.

1. In TurboTax Online, open your return
2. Click on Search (magnifying glass icon) at the top right of your screen
3. In the Search box, enter form 1099-INT and click Enter
4. In the search result box, click on Jump to form 1099-INT
5. TurboTax will take you directly to the section where you can start entering your interest income.
