What has changed from last year, assuming you claimed her last year?

What has changed in the new tax law is that you no longer get an exemption ($4050 deduction) for your dependent. Exemptions were eliminated. Instead you get either the (up to) $2000 Child Tax credit (for dependent child under 17) or a (up to) $500 Other dependent credit for older kids.
