If you lived and worked overseas for 330 days out of 365 days last year, you should file and claim the foreign earned income exclusion (where you can exclude up to $102,100 if foreign source income in 2017) and /or the foreign tax credit to help offset double taxation by paying both US and foreign tax.
You may also have a state filing requirement depending on the state's residency qualifications.
As a US citizen or green card holder, you must file a US tax return every year declaring your worldwide income no matter where it is earned or where it is received.
