home sale within 24 months of spouse's death

I sold my home within 24 months of my spouse's death yet TurboTax Premier for the Mac is only giving me a $250,000 exclusion when it should be $500,000.  Why?  This appears to be a major 'bug' in the software.

Case 1 176921060152 status is 'closed' but as of today, 02/15/2026 , the problem still exists.

Did you answer all of the questions correctly re ownership and use?

Note that the 24-month period starts from the exact date of death.

Yes.  TurboTax has admitted that the error appears in the TurboTax Premier for Mac version of their software.  I spent 2.5 hours screen sharing with a TurboTax 'expert' on 02/04/2026.  case no "176921060152" which is listed as 'closed' but 'bug' is still preset on 2/15/26.

Did you receive a followup message asking if your spouse lived in the house for at least 24 months since 12/31/2020.? To qualify, your spouse would have to live in the house 2 years prior to 12/31/2023 to qualify for his/her part of the exclusion.
