Home Energy Credit is not calculating properly

I purchased $446 worth of insulation and it should be eligible for a 30% tax credit, but the application is showing $0 that qualify for this credit.

Have you updated your software?  The Form 5695 for tax year 2023 was updated on 02/08.

Click on Online and then on Check for Updates

If you have updated your software, if your tax liability is zero the credit cannot be used.

Look at your Form 1040 Line 18.  If Line 18 is 0 the credit cannot be used.

You can view your Form 1040 plus Schedules 1, 2 and 3 at any time using the online editions. Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen. Click on Tools. Click on View Tax Summary. Click on Preview my 1040 on the left side of the screen.
