If your electric vehicle qualifies for a tax credit, you would have received a Clean Vehicle Report from the dealer when you purchased it. You will need the information off of that report to enter the vehicle in the Deductions and Credits section of TurboTax, then Cars and Other Things You Own, then Energy-Efficient Vehicles. Complete that section to see if you qualify for an energy-efficient vehicle credit.
The registration fee may afford you an itemized deduction if it is calculated based on the value of the vehicle. You enter that in the Deductions and Credits section of TurboTax, then Cars and Other Things you Own, then Car Registration Fees. The itemized deduction would only benefit you if you itemized deductions on your tax return. That is usually only beneficial when you have itemized deductions over $14,600 for a single filer in 2024, or $29,200 if filing married-joint.
