Hello! I entered that I was a full-time student in the child and dependent care credit section and I can't correct it now but it shows up on the final review. Help :)

At the time I was playing around, I did not have income so I was just entering things to see how much I would receive back. Well now, because I entered income, its not going back to the student section.

You will need to go back to that screen for Child and Dependent Care Credit and change the answer to that question.

Follow these steps to get back to that section:

Follow these steps to get to the Child and Dependent Care Credit in TurboTax.

  1. If you're not in your return already, sign in to TurboTax and select either Review/Edit or Pick up where you left off under Deductions & Credits.
  2. Select Search from the top menu, type in child care credit, and select the Jump to link that appears above the search results.
  3. Answer the questions to complete the section.

Thanks for the help! It actually doesn’t pop up with that question anymore.

I think my only step is to delete income and then go there.

Thank you for your help!

"I think my only step is to delete income and then go there. " You may be right, because that screen appears only when you don't have any earned income.

I have a question: Can you see your form 2441? Line 4 should show your earned income (plus your spouse's, if any). If the 2441 really still thought that you were a student for all year, line 4 should show your income to be $3,000 (plus your spouse's income (if any). But if Line 4 shows the right earned income, your form should be OK without unchecking the "student" box.
