It has been working right. Nobody else has complained. Why do you think it's wrong or missing?
The new Child Tax Credit for 2021 raises the cut off age from 17 to 18 and makes the credit $3,600 for a child under age 6. Check 1040 line 28 for it.
Does your child show up as a dependent and checked for the Child Tax Credit on the right side Or checked for Other Dependent?
Go back to My Info and check all the answers for that child.
May might have answered one wrong. Check their date of birth.
Before filing, You can preview the 1040 or print the whole return
It was probably added before you noticed. It was added as soon as you entered your children. Not later when you enter what you already got.
Thank you! This cleared it up for me. The preview shows the entitlement less the amounts received. For my 17 yr old - it was showing $500 which appeared to be the other dependent deduction. It happened to be my reduced credit less advance payments. I was clicking all over to see if I could find the actual return.
