Form 8911 still not giving credit

Hi

When I try to add the credit for adding an EV charging station to my property the calculated credit is still showing as $0, and yes I owe enough taxes so that the credit will not reduce that to zero. Has anyone been successful in claiming the credit from form 8911??

The credit should be based upon your purchase price but the credit may not be available for the type of vehicle purchased.

It's not for a vehicle it's for the home charging station

I believe the form is broken. I have the same issue. I have seen some posts that say it works on Turbotax for Windows. I’m working from a Mac.

Same here. It's broken.

TurboTax team - please prioritize a fix for this. It's near the end of February and folks with this credit are unable to file their taxes.

There is a banner that says it wont be available until march now when you try and amend.  I need to find new tax software.

I am also using the Mac version and, even though the software is up to date, it still does show Form 8911 available soon.  What is going on?????????? This is really not acceptable

Its past Mid March and yet no form 8911 for 2018. This is unacceptable for a company this large that is supposed to be the tax experts.

Try this to see if this works. I was able to get it to wok in my 2018 Turbo Tax premier.

1. Open up your program to your return
2. Select Forms on the upper right hand corner of your screen.
3. in the left navigational screen select open form
4. Click on the plus sign where it says 2018 US Form 1040 individual Tax Return
5. Scroll down until you see Form 8911

If for some reason if this doesn't work, try updating the program.  Also so a manual update because this form is there, and is available.
