I filed and amended my 2022 return with turbotax. There was an adjustment to AMT in the amended return. Now my 2023 return has no value in Form 8801 Line 16 ("Enter the amount from your 2022 Form 6251, line 11, or 2022 Form 1041, Schedule I, line 54"). It should have the amended (or even the unamended) AMT number from last year's return. I tried using the "Delete form" tool to delete form 8801 so that it would re-compute this form but that didn't work. Any ideas. I've already paid for the 2023 return and not filed. I wanted to see the forms which is why I paid, but now I can't Clear and Start Over since I paid.

It appears that the system was unable to carry that amount over from the 2022 return. If you have a copy of your return you should manually enter the amount from your form 6251. Line 11 is the total amount of Alternative Minimum Tax that you had to pay in 2022. For most of us that is zero and the system may just be double checking on some data that it doesn't carry over.
Thanks Robert. Unfortunately I don’t think it’s possible to manually enter or modify Form 8801 in the online editions of TurboTax. I haven’t found a way to do this and I’ve found some other posts complaining about the same. Maybe this is possible with the desktop edition. I may try to engage support to find out if they can provide me with a desktop download so I can resolve this issue.
