Form 5695 flagged as QMIN missing or incomplete, but I do have QMIN in box 29a. Do I need to enter in multiple places?

Heat pump install. Box 14 has an amount listed, 21a is yes, 21b is yes, 26a is no, 29a has an amount and the QMIN I7Q6, 29g-32 has amounts

You are entering the LETTER "I", not the number "1", right?

The IRS has an "issue" with QMIDs with the letters "I" and "O" and TurboTax is not set up to do the work-around that the IRS gave.  I'm wondering if they finally added an error message to the program.

*IF* you are comfortable with it, some people have been using another manufacturer's QMID that does NOT have the letters "I" or "O" in it.

Thanks, I did a bit more digging and it looks like the IRS is having issues reading any QMIN with the letter I's (or O's) in it.

I found this as a recommended solution on their website. Trying that and hopefully this will solve it:

Taxpayers filing Form 5695 for Tax Year 2025, with a QMID containing letters I and/or O, should leave those QMID fields blank on the Form 5695 and attach to the return a binary attachment or [GeneralDependencySmall] with the description beginning with ""Substantiate QMID"". Provide the following in the statement: 1.) QMID provided by the qualified manufacturer. 2.) Cost associated. 3.) The line reference and small description for each item of specified property placed into service in 2025. This will allow for the IRS to accept such returns electronically.
Please be aware that this may result in delays in processing the return, which can delay the refund.

Yes, but as far as I know, TurboTax does not let you attach most things, which means you can't do it with TurboTax (unless you paper-file).

Personally, I would just use another manufacturer's QMID.
