I entered $230 in foreign tax credits from 1099-DIV. When I look at the 1040 return form, the amount is doubled to $460. I have looked back through my entries and everything looks correct.

To clarify, did you do anything in the Foreign Tax Credit portion of your return?
I don't think so, but where would I check to see?
if you do not have a FTC carryover from 2024, Form 1116 is not required for 2025, as it is under $300. You merely enter only the FTC amount on that line of the 1099-Div - no linking to Form 1116.
doubling most likeley means you entered the FTC on the 1099-Div and again on Form 1116.
There is no form 1116 in my list of forms. I removed the amounts from the 1099-DIV to see if I could zero it out, and it still shows a $230 credit.
I found my error. Thanks
