Foreign tax credit carryover Form 1116 and Form 3800

I have a foreign tax credit carryover from 2024 and TurboTax generated Form 1116 as expected, but also created an unnecessary Form 3800. I needed to delete Form 3800 to remove the error when TurboTax checked my return.

Make sure the tax form is deleted if you haven't done so already.

1. Go to Tax Tools on the left menu.
2. Select Tools.
3. Click Delete a form.
4. Scan the list for Form 3800. If it’s still there, click Delete next to it.
5. Check for any "Worksheets" associated with Form 3800 and delete those too.
6. log out and back in to save the change.

If working in desktop software

1. Go to the Forms mode in your return
2. Find Form 3800 and select it.  Also do this for any worksheet that may also appear.
3. Once it appears, select delete at the bottom
4. Close the return to save the change.
