For HSA, I entered in the fact that the plan was for myself, yet, TurboTax indicates a max limit of $7300 instead of $3650. How to correct?

My wife has her own HSA plan that is for the family and TurboTax is correctly showing $7300 as the max limit.
In addition, the actual tax return preview shows "Family" selected instead of "Self-Only." How do I correct this?

there is a trick in the HSA rules. if either spouse is covered by  HD family health plan so is the other spouse as long as neither has disqualifying coverage.

doesn't really matter since the maximum contribution, assuming no disqualifying coverage,  for a family is $7300. not $7300 for her and $3650 for you.

@Mike9241 thank you for the quick answer.

My wife and I have separate HSA plans for our own HD healthcare plans. Me on my own plan and wife and kids on her plan.

As such, there are two parts filled

out by TurboTax in form 8889.

When I look at the return that TurboTax is going to file, for myself, it has “Family” instead of “Self-only” checked and it uses the Family limits for myself.

Are you indicating that that this is fine?
