Last month, I purchased a new Tesla in Colorado and claimed the $7,500 federal credit and $5,000 Colorado and elected to transfer the credit to Tesla so it was taken off the price I paid. Now, I want to give this car to a family member who lives out of state. When they go to transfer the title and register in a different state, will the EV tax credits be "clawed back". Is this breaking the rule?

Hello,
I have similar situation. I bought an EV few months ago. I transferred the tax credit to the dealer to take off the purchase price. If I sell or trade it in, do I have to repay the tax credit? And will get the tax credit again for another ev?
Thanks
