Energy credit in 2015

I used my credit in 2015 but have a credit forward for 2016. When asked for previous credit it only goes as far as 2014. How do I get my carryover?

Continue past the screen asking about the credit claimed in previous years.  There will be another entry screen asking about carryover amounts from 2015 where you can enter your carryover.

To go back to that section of your return, use these steps:

• On the top row of the TurboTax online screen, click on Search (or for CD/downloaded TurboTax locate the search box in the upper right corner)

• This opens a box where you can type in “energy improvements” (be sure to enter exactly as shown here) and click the magnifying glass (or for CD/downloaded TurboTax, click Find)

• The search results will give you an option to “Jump to energy improvements”

• Click on the blue “Jump to energy improvements” link
