Employees of a Foreign Government- green card holder

Wife works for a foreign govt in the US. She has a Greencard, no W2. no 1099, she only has certif of annual wages, that states exempt from paying Social Security tax. How to enter on the 2022 1040?


should i enter her income in

 

Miscellaneous Income, 1099-A, 1099-C / Other income not already reported on a Form W-2 or Form 1099 / Any Other Earned Income /  Other Earned Income

(will show on 1040 line 1h)

or

Miscellaneous Income, 1099-A, 1099-C / other reportable income / Other Taxable Income 
(will show on 1040 line 8 / schedule 1 line z)

Employees of a Foreign Government- green card holder

You should enter her income as Miscellaneous Income, Other Reportable Income, Other taxable Income:

 

  1. Federal >Wages and Income
  2. Scroll down to Less Common Income
  3. Select Miscellaneous Income
  4. Select Other reportable income, select ‘yes’ and you will be prompted to enter Description and amount, for the description Wages from being an employee of an international organization not subject to FICA taxes and then the amount.
