Hey everyone. I already filed my taxes. I am about to purchase a vehicle that qualifies for the $7500 Tax deduction. I am also going to install a level 2 charging station at my home which I believe qualifies for some type of credit as well.
How do I claim this when I have already filed my 2021 taxes? Will I have to wait to next year? Amend?

You will have to claim all the credits/deductions when you file your 2022 tax return next year
since you are going to make the purchases in 2022.
Thank you for the quick response. One last question about that. I have been hearing about the credits running out after the Automaker sells 200,000 units. If I purchase my vehicle before 200,000 units sold, will my deduction be locked in at $7500 when I file my 2022 taxes?
Yes, if you purchase your vehicle before the limit of qualifying vehicles is sold, you will enter your vehicle identification number when you apply for the credit and that will identify it as qualifying for the credit, at least under the current law. Of course, tax laws can change from year to year.
