Earned income credit

I received a letter in the mail from the irs saying I might be eligible for the earned income credit for 2021 but didn’t file it on my taxes can I go back in and refile it or do I need to use the form that they mailed me?

Use the for thee IRS mailed to you.

If the Form that was included with your letter can be mailed back to the IRS, you should send the form rather than filing an amended 1040-X.
