Don't understand the question under charitable donations, "How acquired?"

In asking the question "How acquired", TurboTax is asking, how is it that you first came to own the item which you are donating in 2016:

• Did you originally buy it (Purchase)? 
• Did someone give it to you (Gift)?  
• Did you inherit it from someone in your family when they passed away (Inheritance)? 
• Did you trade with someone for the item (Exchange)?
• Did you build, make or manufacture the item yourself (Created)?
