Don't dental insurance premiums count? There is no mention of them in the medical section of Deductions & Credits.

Are dental insurance premiums counted under medical insurance premiums and one is supposed to know that without it being specified?

Don't dental insurance premiums count? There is no mention of them in the medical section of Deductions & Credits.

You are not supposed to know this information. The IRS states that dental expenses are allowed and that insurance premiums for medical care are allowed. So, it is not stated specifically. Please visit the IRS link below to use an interactive tool that will help you determine if the premiums count.
