The Form 5695, Residential Energy Credits is estimated to be finalized in TurboTax on 01/21/2026.
Thank you for your help!
Hmmm.... did TurboTax not see it coming?
Doesn't matter if they 'see' a change coming or not. Until the IRS releases to them the specific changes in the form they themselves cannot make the specific changes to their process/system. Not everything on the internet is worthy of your complaining.
If you see my question as a complaint, your reading skills are no better than your people skills you troll.
I too have been eager to get that section available. Right now it's extremely sad what my refund is looking like and I'm praying the energy tax credit will improve that substantially. I've always got thousands back in refunds over years and year. This year so far is the worst in history at a measly $250ish refund. Trump has really hurt us now it seems.
This is really holding up my refund, I am looking at other tax services.
We are being told there should be an update that will resolve this in the late afternoon on Friday.
Oops
This has to be a joke.
You do know that a tax refund is given because they took to much from you for the year.
And you do know everyone has some sort of tax liability. It might be $10 or it might be $10,000. Energy credits can offset the tax liability reducing the overall liability. So, therefore we’d get a refund based on the amount or energy credit we qualify for therefore reducing our tax liability and therefore providing us with a refund.
Any update on the release of form 5695. Doesn't look like January 21 is going to happen. Surely someone at Turbo Tax knows when this form will be available. If I need to go elsewhere to get this done I need to plan. I'm hoping Turbo Tax does plan and work to schedules.
I've been waiting as well. I might look elsewhere since TurboTax doesn't even give a specific date when they plan to fix this.
