Do you need to keep receipts if you opt for the standard deduction?
No, there are no Schedule A itemized deductions for which you would need the receipts. There are other deductions not included as part of the Schedule A, such as education expenses, for which you would need receipts, or self-employment expenses, but not for Schedule Itemized deductions.
