If you itemize your deductions on your federal tax return, property taxes you paid are one of the deductions you can enter. If your itemized deductions exceed your standard deduction then the amount of your refund can be affected. Or do you mean a refund from your state? Some states such as MN have something for your property tax--you enter it when you prepare your state return. In some states, you have to mail the paperwork regarding the property taxes.
