When you enter the W-2G showing the winnings, you enter the tax withholding amounts at the same time. You get credit for the amount withheld on your tax return just as you would for taxes withheld on a W-2 for income.

if I can on a standard return.  i don't have enough to itemize to even get me close to standard deduction married filing jointly. gambling win was1805.00 and they took out433.00 fed 72.00 state and36.00 local

Yo cannot deduct losses on a Standard return.
