Enter the medical expenses on Schedule A as an itemized deduction. The total medical expenses will need to exceed 10% (7.5% for those born before 1/2/52) of your AGI to receive a benefit. You can always enter your medical expenses and TurboTax will determine if you meet the thresholds.
To enter in your return:
- In your open return, select My Account
- Tools
- Topic Search
- Type 'medical expenses, sch a' in the box, then select GO
