Is there a place to enter federal tax paid on an amended return? It was not done on an extension - received a late income statement and had to file an amended return.

Yes, you would enter it into the return just like if it was an original return once you have activated the 1040X to do an amended return in the software. For example, if it is on a W-2, then you enter all the W-2 information into the return.
First, make sure you really need to amend and that your 2020 return was accepted in TurboTax Online or paper-filed through the mail. You can't amend a return that hasn't been filed yet.
IRS Form 1040-X (amend your return) will be ready on March 25, 2021. Sign up for email notification and we'll let you know when the most current form is available.
When you're ready to amend, find your situation below and follow the instructions.
You will need to save and/or print your original return before you open it to amend it.
The withholding will carry to the 1040X as long as it has been added first before you complete the amended return.

thanks for the reply - I should have stated this was for last year's taxes. I was inquiring about the additional tax paid last year on the amended return - can I and if I can where do I claim it? Thanks
Federal taxes (and penalty and interest) paid are not deductible and are not reported on this year's tax return.
