The FATCA check box is at the bottom of the Form 1099-INT entry screen. To check your 1099-INT form(s) to make sure this box is unchecked, take the following steps in TurboTax Online:

1) Go to Wages & Income>Investments & Savings

2) Edit the entry for the Form 1099-INT and scroll down to the bottom of the page. (You may need to check "My form has info in other boxes" to see every entry point.)

At the bottom of the page you will see the FATCA filing requirement box is checked option. Uncheck this box.

I saw this (your method to fix it) when I was trying to fix it, but every time I unchecked the box, on the next screens it was put back. However, I fixed it a different way: I deleted everything and started over, but this time I did not upload the pdf of the 1099-INT, I just manually entered the information, and it printed the 1040 correctly. So all is well now, and my returns were filed and accepted.
