Claiming vehicle as job expense

I worked as a home health nurse from the beginning of last year until 5/18/16. I purchased a 2005 Buick on 3/14/16 for $2,500 and used it for work 100% of the time due to the amount of miles I was driving each day between my patient homes. I continued to use my personal vehicle during non-working hours. I still own the Buick but it has stayed parked in my drive way and has not been used at all since 5/18/16 because I began working for a new employer and no longer needed it. How should I answer questions about this vehicle when claiming it as a work related expense?

Claiming vehicle as job expense

"The method used to deduct expenses depends on whether you are self-employed or are employed by someone else. Self-employed individuals generally take their travel expenses as a deduction against self-employment income, while those who are employed by others take their unreimbursed employee expenses as an itemized deduction on Schedule A, limited to amounts above 2% of their adjusted gross income (AGI)."
