We have two dependent children at home. I entered information for child tax credit. It arbitrarily posted $1000 and no more. From the information I have read, it should be $2,200 per child, correct? Please help

It depends on the amount of tax liability and income. The Child Tax Credit (CTC) is a tax credit you can claim for each qualifying dependent child on your return. You can get up to $2,200 for each child under age 17, up to the amount of your tax liability, if your modified adjusted gross income (AGI) is less than:
$400,000 if you're Married Filing Jointly
$200,000 for all other filing statuses
If your AGI is higher than that, the amount of Child Tax Credit you're eligible for is reduced by $50 for each $1,000 your modified AGI is above the income threshold.
The advanced child tax credit (ACTC) is a refundable portion if you have at least $2,500 in earned income and you don't use up all of the CTC with your tax liability.
Check out your tax return on lines 19 & 28, Form 1040. From the left rail menu in TurboTax Online, select Tax Tools (You may have to scroll down on the left rail menu.)
For TurboTax Desktop, change to 'Forms' and review the forms
Did you enter Social Security numbers for the children? Did you make sure that it was not marked that their SSN is "not valid for employment?" (The question appears in MY INFO). If they do not have a SSN you only get the non-refundable $500 credit for other dependents. If they are older than 16, you do not get the CTC; you get the $500 credit.
