How come I can't select my childs name under CHOOSE A NAME?

To be eligible, the child must be under age 13, and be listed as living in your home more than half the year (at least 7 months, from the way Turbotax estimates custody). Double check the child's information in the personal info section.  Also, you (and your spouse if married) must have income earned from working, or be full time students.

I checked and all of the information is correct.  I have a W2 from working, she is my dependant and shows up on the list under add another person,  but not under choose a name.

If the name of your dependent does not show up at the screen Whose care did you pay for? under Choose a name, then the software is not qualifying the dependent as available for the Child and Dependent Care Credit.

Review the dependent information under MyInfo.

Do you have a written or verbal agreement with another parent who can claim the child?

Will any other relatives be claiming the child this year?
