Child Care Costs as a medical decution

I have a special needs adult daughter who cannot stay by herself overnight. My husband requires treatment out of state and will require us to pay someone to watch my daughter while we are gone. Are the costs associated with this deductible as a medical (or some other) expense?

Child Care Costs as a medical decution

It would be a Dependent Care expense if she is Permanently and totally disabled.

Your child is permanently and totally disabled if both of the following apply.
• He or she can't engage in any substantial gainful activity because of a physical or mental condition.
• A doctor determines the condition has lasted or can be expected to last continuously for at least a year or can lead to death.
