Child and Dependent Care Credit

Turbo tax claims that Child and Dependent Care payment count as qualified expenses as long as they were made to allow you or your spouse to work or look for work. Turbo tax software allows to claim this credit only when spouse is full time student or disabled.  How to make Turbo Tax make my payments for pre-school as credit , because my spouse was looking for job actively?

Child and Dependent Care Credit

Actively looking for a job is only part of it--the job-seeker has to actually get a job and start working in order to get the childcare credit.  If your spouse did not gain employment, then your childcare expenses are unfortunately not eligibile for the credit.
