Child #2 is automatically being adding to my form 2441-I only want to claim child #1 on my 2441, but can't figure out how to get turbo tax to stop automatically adding #2

TurboTax is trying to be 'helpful' and automatically adding child #2 to my form 2441. This is causing my return to be rejected because child #2 is already claimed on her father's taxes. I am unable to remove her from mine, I am only trying to claim child care expenses for child #1. Each time I deselect #2, however, when I get to the end of the section, TurboTax keeps adding her back and does not provide an option for me to remove her.

Why do you not want to claim the 2nd child's expenses? The usual reason is the other parent is claiming that. That may or may not be allowed depending on the living arrangements. There's  one set of rules for unmarried parents who live together and a different set of rules for divorced or separated (including never married) parents

Ok ... if you are not the custodial parent and you are not claiming the child #2 then delete the child altogether in the MY INFO section.
