No. There is no credit or deduction for paying off your mortgage. What you can deduct for homeownership is mortgage interest paid, property tax and loan origination points. But you paid off your mortgage---so celebrate!

A mortgage payoff is not reported on a tax return. Only the interest paid on the mortgage prior to payoff can be entered as an itemized deduction on Schedule A.

I filed an extension for 2023 but could not pay the tax in full with the extension. I paid the taxes I owed over time this year for 2023. Turbo tax does not show this.
